Call me a broken record. I still have to disable protected mode.

Anyway, the Flash animation on that page at Adobe, the one with the bouncing cube, doesn't play if I have protected mode enabled, and it plays if I disable protected mode. Some century they may get this fixed.
I think this was the last time (27 Jul 2012) I complained about the protected mode problem. Not that it had gone away, just that I had lost the energy to keep complaining or even checking whether the problem had been fixed. Anyway, I feel compelled to report that I am no longer a broken record. For some reason, nearly two years after the last time I thought about this issue, some unknown thing (perhaps a moonbeam from the larger lunacy) made me think about this again today. So I went into the Flash configuration file & removed the line that disables Flash protected mode. In other words, I enabled protected mode for the first time in nearly two years. And it no longer prevents Flash from working. I looked at the page at Adobe with the bouncing cube & it played. I then looked at the clip on the NHL web site of the highlights from last night's hockey game & it played. Then I went to Live Score Hunter & found a tennis match from Munich that was being streamed live & it played.

So protected mode was eventually fixed some time within the past 18-20 months or so. (That's really narrowing it down, isn't it?) I'm going to leave it enabled & you can assume that if I don't post about this again, it means no news is good news & protected mode continues to no longer be the impediment it used to be.

Ditto, I had forgotten I had put that in my cfg file long ago, also that I had disabled OOP's (plugin-container, etc) thru environment variable. Happy to report that I deleted both after reading your post & have had no problems...yet. Time will tell, I'll keep a light on for ya!

Thanks for posting, here's some Fresh Rep for ya! :)
