The program is for animation and vector graphics, and such. It can be published in several formats including HTML5, WebGL, and Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) animation. Adobe Flash Player and Adobe AIR (also being discontinued) are just methods to view the content, and is what is being discontinued.

With a modern browser, it shouldn't be an issue unless a favored site is slow to change, or does not change. A Guy

Thanks, @A Guy, that's what puzzled me. So the games I play online, the only place I use the Player, first went blank, then came back a few days later. But they were running long after April 9. And I can finally uninstall the PITA from my Firefox and Waterfox.

If you uninstall Flash Player, and a site needs Flash, it will prompt you. I kept flash in Vivaldi, and it has to be turned on to work, so if I stream, I just allow it for that session

Xfinity says they will switch streaming over from Flash by the end of the year. Mind their app already works on IOS, so they should have the code

"Long story short" snort gasp ! What a loquacious load of double speak, gobbledygook, and plain old male bovine biscuits. This kind of feltercarb is what I expect to hear from D.C. The phrase, "If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, then baffle them with (the aforementioned male bovine biscuits)" comes to mind.

The post was back in 2016. Back then I do remember some talk that Flash was going away. I also remember that there was one patch after another. It was like a weekly event. And for me personally I couldn't wait till HTML5 made the mainstream instead of the virus/hack vector Flash was.

Standardizing your content on HTML5 is your best bet for long-term compatibility, and for minimizing time spent on students' issues viewing course content.
I couldn't agree more. Time to move on and embrace new technology and leave the old tech in the dustbin where it belongs. I suppose one day Java will too fall victim to the tech heap. Things change and advance in the tech world. That's a fact.

Too bad. We had already been when they said they were closing shop. Do we have to give the champagne back?

I could find the one where they had said April 2019 if I had enough time. :P
