Adobe - Adobe Flash Player
Hi,
Since the latest update cited above, I've been having issues with Flash locking up in Youtube and various other Flash based websites. I've seen a few other people solving this by forcing an install of an older version. Is Flash the cause, or is there interference with some other application?
Can anyone help with some good tips? Is Flash/Microsoft aware of the issue? It is very annoying.
Many thanks,
Arwin
Arwin,
Did you use the appropriate uninstall tool before updating your Flash player?

Thank you. The tips in there for turning of the virus scanner did the trick. The problem seemed to be some kind of interference between AVG and the latest Flash.
EDIT: Man, it was working for a few days now, and then just 30 seconds after this post and the problem is back, and I hadn't even reenabled AVG's resident shield. This is getting really frustrating.
Sorry to hear that you are still having problems there.
FYI - I have AVG Pro here on 3 computers & it presents no problems with Flash. [ & I leave it turned on during installation.]
Should you want to re try -
*Make sure you have no windows open as you uninstall Flash.
Exit all applications: Check the task bar and the system tray to make sure no user applications are running. For example, if you see icons for browsers or instant messaging (IM) clients such as AOL Instant Messenger or Yahoo! Messenger, right-click the icon and select either Close or Exit.
*Reboot on completion.
*Install new updated version.
*Verify it is correct.
*Reboot again.
Let us know how you go please.

New Adobe Flash Square (test version) for 64 bit browsers (IE9 Beta) is available now!
See here:
Adobe previews 64-bit Flash Player 'Square'
Version number is 10.2.161.22
64 bit! Woohoo! Going to check it out now...
Finally 64-bit Flash after all these years!
IE9 beta 64-bit with 64-bit Flash installed earlier today.
Have visited quite a few sites with minimal display problems.
Guess which site was the first one to crash IE9 beta 64bit - www.sevenforums.com
IE9 did its recovery and it seems OK now.
