    Can I revert IE11 To IE10?

I currently have IE10 on Win 7. Before I install the new Update to IE11, I want to know how I can revert back to IE10 if issues develope, and if so, how.

I read that IE10 can be reverted back to IE9 by merely going into Uninstall Programs and deleting the Microsoft IE10 Update. But, if I install IE11 and do the same thing (delete IE11 Update in Uninstall Programs) will it take me back to IE10 or will it go all the way back to version IE9 which (as best I can recall) my Win7 computer originally came with?

W7 should have come with IE8.

As far as I know, they all uninstall the same way. Watch my video in this post:
    Internet Explorer 9 - Uninstall

I tested with IE11 and it uninstalls the same way - it took the computer back to IE10.

Uninstalling an IE update should take you back to whatever version of IE that was installed before the update. So you could go from IE11 to IE9 or even IE8 depending on the computer. But like you said, you have IE10, so uninstalling IE11 should take you right back to IE10,

Thanks for the info! Neither IE8 & IE9 show anywhere in Control Panel's Program/Updates, so I wasn't sure if they were still on the computer and available to be restored. I was afraid IE10 might likewise disappear and/or be unavailable.

    Revert IE11 to IE10

Try System (or System & Security)/Windows Update/View Update History/Installed Updates.
Go down the list, Find IE11 and uninstall it. Your system should revert back to the prior installed version. Mine did, back to IE10.

Even with IE10, you might still have issues but in my case, IE10 x32 version was a work-around. So was using that (ahem ..) alternate browser with the cute orange animal ...

    Hi there.

I think you can - it's just an update which can be "un updated" or rolled back.
This also shows how important it is to take BACKUPS before doing any system updates of this type - so if it doesn't work or un-install properly simply restore the previous image.

BTW on IE10 press F12 to get Operate in compatibility mode AND CHOOSE the version of IE you want IE10 to behave like - so if you are still running IE9 going to IE10 should not be a humungous issue.

I think though IE11 seems fine - you might get a few issues with some web sites though unless for these you turn the enhanced security option off.

    Cheers

    Hi Jimbo

Yes, backups. I actually did one before I updated to IE11 and that was going to be my last resort. The error message I kept getting with IE11 was "Scanstyles does nothing in Webkit/Firefox/Opera".

For your info, IE11 ran fine, I just could not print certain web sites info, such as my MasterCard & American Express accounts, all of my banking sites and that is crucial for me. I also have that problem with IE10 in x64 mode but at least, as I indicated, there are easy work-arounds.

    Txs for info.
    Regards.

See if Archer's post helps if you get some type of error,
Unable to uninstall IE11, install did not complete
