How can I attach a document to windows live mail. It quit working two weeks ago and I cannot figure this out. Can anyone help me? When I try to attach a document a flag comes up and says I need permission from the administrator. I am the administrator and I don't know what this means.

The box that comes up when I try to attach a document says: You don't have permission to open this file. Contact the Administrator to obtain permission. I am the administrator. I can attach pictures but not documents. No I cannot take a picture of the box. I am not good working a computer as you can tell. Sorry.
Guy, I cannot work a computer very well. Can you see this attachment?
That picture was taken when you were in WLM and tried to navigate to a file to attach to an email, is that correct? Does this happen when trying to attach a document from any location, or just a certain folder? Can you think of anything you might have changed just before the problem began? You might try and see if you have a System Restore point from before this began

Thank you so much for trying to help me with my problem. I can attach pictures but I can't attach documents from any Word folder. I have tried to reset to an earlier date twice and still the problem continues. This problem happened just as I was on the desk top screen as I remember it and a window flashed up and it asked to take control of my computer. I thought it might be a virus so I hit the "deny" button instead of the "alllow" button. So just after this happened I tried to send a document from my Windows Live Mail and it gave me the error window that I sent you. I have tried the repair that Robin6 suggested below twice and that did not help.
To fix wlm
Go to control panel
Program and features
Look for windows live essentials
Double click it
When it comes up it will ask you to uninstall or repair
Click
Repair
When it is done reboot the computer
Try to attached something when you are re logged into the computer
Robin6 suggested also that I should disable my anti virus and I will do that and see if it works.

I did disable my anti-virus but it still would not allow me to attach a document to WLM. I can attach pictures. In WLM there is a button that I can click that says attach documents and one that says attach pictures. When I click the documents button, my pictures folders comes up. When I click the attach pictures, my documents folders comes up. This is strange and I don't know why this is. I tried two earlier restore points both before the problem started and still that did not fix the problem. I know there has to be an answer to fix this problem but I usually create more problems trying to fix a simple problem. This does get a little discouraging, if you know what I mean.

WLM might not attach it if the document is open
Robin, yes, I can open the documents in Word without a problem. I can attach a picture in WLM with no problem. When I click the paper clip in WLM, however, it takes me to pictures. When I click picutes in WLM it takes me to documents. Just the opposite of what I click on. Go figure? But when I click on a document, it comes up with a window that says I need the administrator's permission to open the document and I am the administrator and I don't know what this window is talking about. This whole thing is very strange to me but I know some computer geek could fix this issue. I just wish I knew more about computers. They are marvelous when they work as intended. When they don't, I am lost at what to do about the problem!
