    Live Messenger


    How do you stop Live Messenger popping up on start up? I don't want to remove it, just open it when I want it. Was easy to do on XP! Otherwise I think Windows 7 is fine (so far!). Tried Task Manager - Services, but couldn't fine Messenger. Also not in Control Panel - Uninstall (not as I want to). Thanks.

    Hi Llama and welcome to the SevenForums.

    Open Messenger, go to Tools > Options > Sign in and uncheck the box marked with yellow:

    Many thanks - I was trying to be too clever and focusing on Windows 7, not the application....

    Can also run msconfig and adjust various things that want to start up automatically.

I just reformatted, and I'm on W7. I was downloading MSN, and I noticed its the new 2011 one, which I find pretty shitty, I couldn't find a link to the old/normal Live Messenger, does anyone know where to get it?

When i'm on windows live messenger, and i want to send my webcam to my friend/family member, i click the webcam button, usually it says send webcam, but now why does it automatically make a video call? Thanks in advance -Matt
