    Firefox up v 26??

    Hi,

Any thoughts on the frequent updates to Firefox. They are up to 26. Curious about the numbering system. They'll be up to 100 in no time.

Every time I upgrade I worry which add on will disable. I know it's open source but are all these upgrades necessary?

    Any comments?

    Bill

My concerns revolve around breaking add-ons like you say, and whether that upcoming goofy Australis GUI is defeatable.

EDIT: Yup. 26 disabled Download Statusbar 0.9.10 and Boohbah's compatibility check disabler did not help.

if you use this extension then you need not worry about addons not working.
i have had it for a few years now and there are no addons that i have that have stopped working when i update FF

I'm the same. I hate all the constant updates. I want to be upto date but always worry it'll break something. Change for the sake of change isn't necessarily a good thing if everything works well. Personally Firefox has worked fine with every update though. Although same can't be said for Internet explorer. Versions 10 and 11 have given me some headaches so I stick with IE9. Flash is another component constantly being updated which really annoys. The later versions are no longer fluid and I have to roll back circa 11.5 for a butter smooth video on Firefox. I think adobe is to blame rather than Firefox though as it's the same in IE.

I also don't like being forced to update gpu drivers as that in itself is a harrowing experience!
