How Do I Get Old OE Mail into Windows Live Mail?

An old XP home tower has essentially died, and we had a lot of email that we'd saved in Outlook Express on that machine. Now we've set up Windows Live Mail on the replacement Windows 7 tower and our new mail is being copied over from Xfinity into WLM.

But how do I get the old saved OE mail into WLM? The old XP Home is pretty much useless, although I could try removing the HDD and connecting it as an external drive, but I have no idea if it'll be readable or not. If it is, what would be the steps necessary to get it from one tower to another, and if it's not readable, what can I do? These emails are important.

It's been a while since I used/looked at OE but doesn't it have an Export function? I remember transferring all my messages over to WLM. Export from OE to a thumb drive then Import to WLM.
Ops. I must have missed the part about the XP machine being dead.

if the drive is not readable you cannot do a thing
If XP still works then you could backup OE, save the backup and put it on an external drive and import it into WLM

IF, you can get the HDD from the dead XP PC to work, see if this helps
