    IE 11 slow loading

    Hi
I have just returned my toshiba satellite pro 650 laptop to factory settings. I have loaded all windows updates and no additional software has been loaded. When I launch IE 11 it takes approx 50 seconds to open the home page. Very considerably longer than my desktop which is within 10 seconds of launching

I use Bullguard as my Internet security software and the laptop comes with 1GB of Ram

I would appreciate some help please

    Hi AGH01 welcome to SevenForum,
How old is the computer ?
You could have some out of date wired or wireless network drivers,
You might also see some of the links above my signature to Fill in your system spec's page and Remove manufacture junkware which is all expired now doing factory restore, especially the pre-installed security suite which was what exactly ?

Thanks for your reply, I carried out a clean boot and found if I disabled Adobe reader update detector, IE11 launched within 25 to seconds, still longer than my Desktop PC

I went on the Device manager and checked for out of date drivers and they all were up to date. I downloaded software called "Slimdrivers" recommended in a computer magazine and scanned the laptop. It found 22 out of date drivers which was at odds with what Windows found via the Device manager. I was reluctant to update any after reading a number of threads in this forum advising against it.

I have removed the McAfee Security suite and also most of the junk Toshiba software that came with the Lap-top. The following software has been loaded

    Adobe reader
    CC Cleaner
    Malware Bytes
    Java
    Nero ( came with laptop)
    Chrome
    I-Tunes

The Laptop is 3 years old ( Toshiba Satellite pro 650 )
    320 GB Harddrive
    1GB Ram

I was thinking of upgrading the RAM, would this help. I would appreciate any further advice

    Hi thanks,
Mcafee is a wildly unpopular security suite here,
Was it the only prior existing security installed ?
Did you use the Mcafee uninstaller ?
How to uninstall or reinstall supported McAfee products using the Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR)

thanks for all your help, I have now finally resolved the problem, the final piece in jigsaw was to install some additional RAM. Along with the other guidance the problem is resolved.
