    Need help removing google chrome

I deleted google chrome and then tried to reinstall it with the version that comes with the flash player download but it said google chrome was already installed so I went to add and remove programes and clicked uninstall google chrome and it told me it had already been uninstalled then it removed it from the list then I tried to install it again and it still told me it was installed so I read lots of websites and things about other people with the same sort of problem and did what they got told to do like deleting registry files and stuff like that and tried reinstalling google chrome again still it tells me its already installed I even used that ccleaner programme and I still get told google chrome is installed i tried downloading it from the google website itself and the installer tells me it cant install or something im guessing because it thinks google chrome is still installed and i cant find a single mention of google chrome left on my computer so whats left? what have i missed that's telling things that its still installed when it isnt

    Welcome to the Seven Forums.

When you say, "I deleted google chrome..."; does that mean that you manually deleted a folder? If so, what folder was deleted?

Also, can you post a link to the version of Chrome that you originally had installed?

yes I manually deleted it as to what the folder was called I don't remember it was either google or google chrome the folder I think was in programme files (x86) and google chrome I originally had I don't know if I got it from flash player or google because it had been on my computer for ages but here is where I tried getting google chrome again from flash player Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player and here from google https://www.google.com/intl/en_uk/chrome/browser/ . and before you ask me as to why I deleted it manually I had just woken up and hadn't had anything to eat yet so I didn't think about going to add or remove programes and just assumed deleting it would count as uninstalling it (or at lest the bits that count) because im sure I have installed things that had already been installed on computers before (probably on older versions of windows or something)

Nope - I was not going to ask you why you deleted the folder - stuff happens

You mentioned that several websites talked about editing the registry. Did you try that? To be clear, I'm not suggesting that you try that.

You also mentioned using CCleaner, did you use the registry cleaning part of CCleaner?

Download/Save this version to your desktop...
    Download Google Chrome 32.0.1700.76 - FileHippo.com
(Use the green link at the top right).

Try installing Chrome using that installer.

If you get an error, leave the error alone (e.g. leave the error window open) and go hunting for a log file. Maybe such a log will be in the user temp folder: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp Maybe the log file will tell us what the installer saw that made it think Chrome was already installed.

It is a silent installer - no windows until the Chrome browser window appears (or fails to appear).

I cannot replicate your issue... no matter how badly I mutilate the Chrome installation, a fresh install fixes it.

It might be time to for you to test installing Chrome while using a new test user account/profile.
