    iexplorer 8 crash

    hi,
my iexplorer 8 crashes without using it..it shows me the message, that a tab was crashed and recovered again, but i had not used iexplorer.
it has its tab crash security, but after closing iexplorer, it is not closing the crash security tabs (the other instances running on the background) so i have to close them manually in task manager (using ressources and also recovering all the time automatically unnecessarily)

i read a lot about the tab security, which i think is a good idea, but it does not work. iexplorer crashes also with it very often.

the message: "iexplorer does not work, please look after an online sollution or close the program" appears often, and it is not possible to close it. it works with the message.

i tried to reinstall the browser but after several times of restart, the message of recovery of an webpage (again without any open internet explorer instances) appears..

have anyone an idea how to fix this problem?

    Hi baltasar,

Not sure exactly how you say you're re installing it, but have you tried Resetting it?

You might also try running it with no add ons, (safe mode) to see if it runs fine for a while. That may possibly tell you it's a bad add-on on causing the problem, then you can run it in normal mode and go to Manage Add-ons in the Tools drop down list and disable your add-ons one by one to try and find the add on causing it.

maybe is re installing it not the right terminus..i deactivated it and after a restart i re activated it again..there is no possibility to reinstall it i think as it was on xp..

i tried to deactivate every add on but there are not much..add ons by microsoft, adobe and only one for the nvidia homepage..

but look at this: there are a lot of ie tabs not closed..i am not running iexplorer right at this time: (i neet to close manually all the tasks)

By deactivating it, I take it you just stopped the IE8 process and restarted. Try the steps in the links I gave you above. The first one, Resetting. Try that one. To run it with no add-ons, follow the steps in the second link I post, add-ons.

It could be the Silverlight. Are you using the latest version? Should be version 3.0.40818.0. If it's an older one, go and update it, see if it helps.

Get Started - Install Silverlight | Microsoft Silverlight

You might try using IE8 without silverlight for a while longer, maybe a couple of days, to see if it happens anymore.

To keep things organized, if you have a question about Windows SQL, create a new thread in the software board.
