Restoring your settings to defaults may solve some problems. Last, make sure you have only one antivirus software. It can make you browsers go haywire.
More info would be helpful. When does this happen, on all websites? What exactly occurs? There are known Resolving Host issues with Chrome, but the fix may depend on your particular issue. Here are two things to try:
Clear Chrome's DNS cache
Type or copy and paste
chrome://net-internals/#dns
to Chrome's address bar and enter> In Host resolver cache section, click on Clear host cache button
Close Chrome and try this second idea
Start> In search box type cmd> Enter> When command prompt opens type these commands one by one followed by Enter
ipconfig /release
Enter
ipconfig /renew
Enter
ipconfig /flushdns
Enter
Restart your PC and see if that helps. If no help, you might try changing your DNS server to Open DNS, or Google DNS

You can do that manually in the Ipv4 settings, where it says enter dns server and alternate DNS server.
user31.Thanks for the reply.I did think about that method but I didn't know what to enter in the boxes.
Maybe you can give me some further info on that method Please.
This was the method I was referring to. Of course, these tutorials are readily available.
Change TCP/IP settings - Microsoft Windows Help
In the DNS boxes, enter:
First, 8.8.8.8
Second, 8.8.4.4
Save settings before you exit.
