This is so bizarre! Two weeks ago I marked this thread as solved after changing a check-box in Outlook.com to shut the vacation notice off. I didn't know was that it didn't shut off until someone told me. I opened Outlook.com to find this at the bottom of the screen—

I use the dialog box to turn it off but it doesn't "take."

My home is all Windows; desktops, notebooks, tablet and smartphone. Windows gives me angina. I grew tired of struggling with it years ago. I may put them all on Craig's List and buy Apple.

WLM the program syncs to WLM on the web, as long as you sign in with a Live Account EVERYTHING you set on WLM the program will be set on WLM on the website and visa versa.
The only way this does not happen if you do NOT sign in and just use WLM with a regular pop account. not related at all with WLM

Thank you for your thoughts. Please expand on this and tell me how it relates to my inability to stop the vacation notice.

    Oh, that decodes it. Thanks.

I was aware of that and did it several times but it didn't "take." Someone pointed out to me that the SAVE button is not visible unless the user scrolls down. I saved my change and all seems to be okay.

Thanks to all of you for taking the time to help.
