IE 11 tab problem

Since the last update when I go to open a new tab I get the about message. I have changed in the internet options to open tab in homepage so many times but it keeps going back to the blank page option. Any help would be appreciated. Moonlighter

If the problem still exists after following ThrashZone's suggestion, then check you antivirus and/or security apps. Sometimes those apps have a feature that attempts to prevent/revert certain changes to browsers.

Thank you that worked well but when I restarted my computer and started ie I still have the problem. any suggestions please

Uninstall Vipre

Restart the computer

Reset IE again per ThrashZone's suggestion

Do not set a new homepage or change any settings within IE after the reset

Restart the computer again

Check IE to see if the reset settings held.

Let us know the results

ok did all the suggestions and still have the about blank there when I restart my computer. Thanks for all your help. im at a stale mate with this one I think

If you want to keep working on this, then uninstall all security related apps and install Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) (you can go back to Vipre later). As far as I know, MSE adds nothing to IE, so it is a good antivirus to use while troubleshooting stuff.

Please post a screenshot of the settings window where about:blank is showing.
