Outlook Express/Windows Live Mail W7 Upgrade?

I have an XP computer which I want to upgrade to W7, so I have run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. Outlook Express is then no longer available but if I open Outlook Express then I get Windows Live Mail. So can I upgrade to W7 without problems and use Windows Live mail? And does anyone know a way to import that mail and the rest like contactperson to anther e-mail?

Your best bet before you update is to download and install windows live mail. You pick up windows live essentials 2012 and check off wlm. Once it installs it will take everything out of outlook express and put it in wlm
If you make a live account all your contacts will sync in the cloud
Now you backup windows live mail and put it on a flas
Then you install wlm it on windows 7
Import the backup and you are good to go
You might have to reconfigue if you have a pop account but when you sign into wlm all your contacts will be there

I already have updating to W7 and use the Windows Easy Transfer to backup my data. I have an folder called Windows.old and in that folder also is the Outlook Express folder. On W7 I have installed the Windows Live Mail (essentials 2012), Can I use some data from the Outlook Express folder or is it fatal because I made any backup? And the user don't know if he has a password and was everytime logged in already?

I do not know if you can use what is in the outlook express folder because WLM does not accept wab files
Maybe someone else here can tell you

No I don't think there is anything, it was stupid of me to not make any backup. Now we have to recover the password and then logon to the new Windows Live Mail (2012)

WLM has recently been re-branded as www.outlook.com with lots of usability improvements, you may want to look at that if you have to rebuild your email online
