Unable to install Windows 7 service pack 1 or server 2008 R2 SP1

    Hi !

I am on IE9 but would like to install IE11. I can download it easily, but then a window says I need service pack 1. However, the automatic update tells me there's no update available for my computer, and if I try the Windows download center, it just doesn't work, and there's a choice of 4 or 5 different SP1's which all look the same to me... I've downloaded several, but get absolutely nowhere.

Would I automatically get SP1 if I bought a newer version of Windows 7 or if I upgraded ? The one I use is family premium and is about 2.5 years old.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Download Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (KB976932) from Official Microsoft Download Center

The one you need is windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe - This application installs Sp1 to a 64-bit machine running Windows 7

When you use the download button you have to scroll down to see it.

If you still have problems try working through the instructions on this page You do not have the option of downloading Windows 7 SP1 when you use Windows Update to check for updates
