    Hello Herm,

The size of the browser window will open the same as it was last closed by default.

    Hope this helps,

    Hi,
I believe windows snap will also work,
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/snap
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Arrange-windows-side-by-side-on-the-desktop-using-Snap
But as Shawn has said move the window to the top left corner of your monitor and diagonally drag the bottom right corner to fill the rest of your screen,
Then close it and re-open and it should remember the size you made the previous window,
    Repeat for any other programs,
If some thing doesn't go as suggested please let us know,
    Cheers.

Right click the Chrome shortcut> Properties> Shortcut tab> Make sure that the Run option is set as Maximized

Shortcut - Open Normal window, Minimized, or Maximized

    OR

Right click the Chrome shortcut> Properties> At the end of the path in the Target field add --start-maximized> Apply and OK your way out

Either should work. You may have to restart the browser for it to show.

If you open the Google shortcut, maximize the window, and close the window, does it open maximized?

On your Shortcut - Properties - Shortcut Tab you should see a "run" option, Try setting this to "maximised"
