Change computer text size from 100% to 125%

    Good morning,

I am running IE11 on Windows 7 Pro. I had my text size set at 125% for several months and about a week ago it suddenly changed back to 100%.

I have tried resetting it back to 125% by going to the Control Panel and then Adjusting the Screen Resolution which had worked previously when I originally put it to 125%. But now it doesn't hold it at 125% anymore. Once I shut down and restart my text is back to 100%.

Any ideas for this elderly 'brain-housing group'?

    Thanks and regards,

There are other folks who have this problem also. There is a discussion about it on a Microsoft page.
font size does not hold when I increase size - Microsoft Community The solution (I hope) is at the bottom of the page.

    Hello Phil,

After you have set the zoom to 125% in Internet Explorer, double check to make sure that you have the Reset zoom level for new windows and tabs box unchecked in step 7 below to see if that may be the issue.

    Internet Explorer Zoom Level

    Hope this helps, :)

Odd. You might see if using OPTION THREE below to restore the default values first, then use OPTION ONE or OPTION TWO to set the DPI to 125% may stick afterwards.

    Hi Brink,

No luck with this suggestion either. I guess I will just be content to change the text size from 100 to 125% when ever the need arises.

I appreciate you trying to help but for the time being I will just keep playing around with it. If I get to the bottom of it I will let you know.

    Thanks and regard,

PS: If I go blind from trying to see the smaller print I won't have to worry about it ....lol

    Hi,
You might check with either the computer manufactures website or the graphics card makers site for graphics card driver updates,
    Cheers

How about setting all to 125% with the DPI setting. Go to: Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display

A quick way you can change it is to hit Control and + or - and it makes the current page bigger or smaller and keeps it that way for next time.
