    Remember Password in IE

Nearly every time I have to login to a website I get the following popup:

    Remember Password in IE-secure.jpg

I was wondering just how secure using this would be. Where would it be stored? How would I get to it to actually use it to sign in to a website?

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

The following applies to Internet Explorer 11:

All IE11 saved passwords are stored encrypted n Windows Registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\IntelliForms\FormData:

The information is completely encrypted and practically impossible for someone else outside your own network to access. As long as your Windows user account is protected with a strong password it is safe to let IE11 to store your login credentials.

An example of how it works then with saved credentials. I want to check my Outlook.com mail using IE11. On Sign In page I start typing my username, after a few letters IE shows me stored users starting with that character combination:

I select my email address, IE11 now automatically retrieves the password and inserts it to its place and I can log in:

Simple and safe. Brink has made an excellent tutorial about IE11 credentials, see it here.

Thank you very much Kari that will allow me to stop using the login program I am using now.

This way sounds safe and secure.

I can recommend it, I use no third party apps for storing credentials, the built-in feature in IE works really good.

    I have one more question:

Once the name and password is saved this way and return to the website how do I get to it to log in automatically?

If the sign in page has the "Remember me" or "Keep me signed in" option, select it before signing in. Now you will logged in automatically in the future:

If the site has no such option and you will be asked credentials every time, just start typing your username. I know no method to sign in automatically to these sites.

    Hi,
Sign in's are cookie based when you sign into any website a cookies is installed,
Unless you manually sign out that cookie will allow the website to remember your computer next time you return to it,

    In an example,
If you didn't use the remember me box and left it unchecked the cookie will expire after a certain amount of time set by the website in question which tends to vary,
SevenForums cookies expire in about an hour I believe to give you a local example :)
    Cheers.
