    I need help with 127.0.0.1!


    Hi i have a Dell laptop 32 bit running windows 7 home edition. And i'm having problems every time i click my google chrome to open it . It displays 127.0.0.1. How do i fix my p.c. from this problem?

    could be something to do with your hosts file or a firewall blocking your connection

    What is your home page set to for Chrome?

    You might want to look at your HOSTS file:
    Strange looking Host found?

    It keeps changing the startup page on my googlechrome, back to 127.0.0.1 after i fix it.

    I like to know what process causes such changes...
    ...so I use Process Monitor
    ...like I did in this post/videos.

    You might prefer to just cure the problem via some scanning tools - in which case, you will need to wait for someone to help you run those tools.

    I dunno...but i wish i had a link or knew of a tool that would fix it. O r @ least knew where to go to fix it.

    Have you scanned for both malware and adware yet? If not download, install, decline the trial, update and run a full scan with Malwarebytes | Free Anti-Malware & Internet Security Software to check for serious infection first, followed by SUPERAntiSpyware - Downloads to check for spy and adware.

    Check Browser Add-Ons and Search, disable any but Flash. If you see strange entries uninstall them in Control Panel.

    Other tips for optimizing and going over your system thoroughly in Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7
    Be sure to at least establish a Clean Boot and use the recommended AV for best performance.

    There's a Microsoft fix it to reset Hosts to default vaules:
    How can I reset the Hosts file back to the default?
