    Hi thanks,
This where you get into trouble Vonda,
One where do you download most of these types of programs,
Most download sites add pup's or potently unwanted programs to their downloads,
I really feel these types of encrypting utilities are unneeded,

At minimum make System images before doing them so the potential damage is easier to undo,

    Cheers.

I didn't see a post from Brink but thanks Brink for any input
Brinks post was included in post 82.
I downloaded the key scrambler on advice of Bill Rankin from PC-Pitstop.
I am going to get an external HD and attempt to make a System image, is that the same as cloning?

Ok Vonda, no sweat on the eBay toolbar.

I don't see an AntiVirus (AV) Program on your P&F list.
Please download a real-time AV program to protect your system.

Real time protection (use only one)
    • avast! be free Antivirus
    • AVG | Free
    • Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE)

When installing be alert to untick all checkboxes that are cross marketing and not part of the application. These are mostly toolbars or the Chrome browser. Read the dialog boxes during and after the install and look for checkboxes - remove the tick from anything that isn't part of the AV application.

Also, do not accept the offer of a free trial, you want to install the FREE version.

Notes from the site say SAS and mabm have these features ?
Probably exclusive to the Pro versions though ?

I read what Username posted and wonder if Keylogger is what you really want - it only protects keystrokes in a web broswer. Zemana AntiLogger Free on Bob Rankin's page might serve you better if you want a keylogger protection app.
That being said, I'm not certain of any value added with these apps if you have good Security software and practice safe-surfing. Although a bit technocal here's a good guide from CERT
Securing Your Web Browser | US-CERT

Please make sure that windows firewall is enabled and running
Zonealarm was uninstalled and it's a good idea to make sure that WinFirewall was turned on
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Action Center > Security bar
    Network firewall should be ON

They have the ability to detect keyloggers.

I think I've caught up with what I saw - The AV app and Winfirewall.

yes, when I tried to update the adobe flash, it gave no option to uncheck the Google Chrome and tool bar. I did delete those after the install of flash player. I do have the Microsoft Security essentials. see pic.

Ultimately I believe one of the other two security suites had an issue with key scrambler and blocked you from entering anything in the url address bar,
This is when ie crashed or stopped working immediately,
But if everything is well in a day or so please setup imaging with Marcum free or the paid for version,
As far as are images the same a cloning ?
    The term suggests so ?
    Cheers.

Image is a highly compressed snapshot of the OS and all setting, programs, etc. Several images could be stored on external media. An image must be restored to another drive to function.

A clone is an exact copy of a drive on another drive, it occupies that whole drive. A clone can be physically swapped and is ready to boot.

Ok, thanks again Vonda. The F&P img in post 99 must have clipped MSE off.

Flash puts it's trick question on the front end of the install, at leaset it does when you install from Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player

The offer is square in the middle and it's even labled Optional Offer. You did the smart thing, you noticed it (yes!) and uninstalled it (YES!)

Many software pkgs do this, so keep alert when ever you donwload/install software.

    I'm out

    Bill
