Sea Monkey browser won't shut down

Recently my Browser (SeaMonkey 2.25) won't allow me to open the integrated mail client. The minute I try to open an email that damned spinning beach ball just keeps spinning and spinning. When I go to the running processes and try to stop it there nothing happens. I keep getting the message that SM is still running and I have to shut it down which means I have to reboot the computer to access my emails. Does this sound like a Windows issue or a Browser issue? Running Windows 7.

You can try a few things to see if it is the browser, or windows.

Try it in Safe Mode with Networking

    Safe Mode

If it works fine in Safe Mode with Networking, try a Clean Start

Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

If it works fine there as well, then follow the tutorial to see if you can locate a conflict

Thanks A Guy, I will try your suggestions this evening and will report back assuming I get emails in that time span.
