    Aviator update available

    Aviator has released an update:

    Aviator Free Download

I haven't checked it out yet. Will run an update check via Aviator update check in scheduled tasks.

EDIT: Downloaded and installed but version number is reported as 33.0.1750.117 (2.0)

Softpedia states version number is 34.0.1750.117 (2.0) release date May 30th, 2014 but that's not the version that installs by running the downloaded installer!

    Hey again.

Sucks i was reading the news before getting ready for work. If I'd have seen this I'd have went through aviator and updated it since they fixed it in the last release.

Sounds like the latest version of Chrome itself maybe that's what they are basing it off of? I know chrome current version, if I'm not mistaken, is 34.x.x.x

    Thanks for the update.

    Chrome is:
    35.0.1916.114 for production users
    36.0.1985.32 for beta testers
    37.0.2008.2 for developers

Which makes me wonder if Aviator will always be several security fixes behind.

I knew it was somewhere around there...

But i would imagine that Aviator would be adding there own security fixes in their updates since it's merely based off of Chrome/Chromium. I'll check a change log or something when I get more time.

i am not a fan of chrome, seems everyone of my clients who have used chrome wound up with something bad. Since I removed Chrome and put Firefox on they have been clean so far

    Firefox most attacked browser

EDIT: "While the IE, Chrome and Safari Web browsers were all attacked and exploited at Pwn2Own, the most exploited browser at the event in terms of the total number of new zero-day exploited that were publicly demonstrated was Mozilla Firefox."

There are things called FUDs (Fully undetectables). Just because they feel like they are safer... Doesn't mean that they are. If a browser is easily compromised then it probably means its an easier route to slip in an FUD

    But to each his own.

    Hey all,

First of all, thanks for the kind welcome here. Secondly, because I see posts regarding an Aviator update I feel my input could help here. Aviator's just been updated for the Mac build, in a measure to repair some corrupted files that were popping up in version 2.0. Nothing new for the Windows one (and I'm just guessing, I could be wrong here, but the Windows one is probably the one with more interest on this site), though a code sync with Chromium 35 is coming soon. For details about updates and such check out our release notes: https://updates.aviatorbrowser.com/releasenotes.txt . This should show what's new and what's been changed when an update's been released. Hope this helps!

Firefox still has the community behind it Unlike google, also check out Seamonkey, I use Iceweasel mainly. Curious about this Aviator but still a bit young i think. You browser is not the main vuln you face, User knowledge is the best defense/offense. Computers are only as strong as their user!
