Cannot Load Explorer 11 on Windows 7 - run scrpit error

    Hi there

Recently upgraded from XP to Windows 7 - IE and Firefox worked fine post install. Then reinstalled Norton a few days later and Firefox working fine but Explorer 11 wont load owing to Run Script Error

Dont think it is a Firewall issue - and dont think it is a Norton issue - why would run script errors suddenly appear and block access

Had intended to uninstall and reload Explorer 11 but actually cant see Explorer 11 on the list of installed programs - maybe it is there but in a subfolder of another installed Microsoft program.

Any suggestions on why this run script error appears and denies Explorer access??

    Hello,

If you went it to programs and features, on the left hand side there is "View Installed Updates" And internet explorer will be on that list, uninstall it again and try again.

Let me know how it goes!

I would recommend not using IE11 because there are still a lot of bugs in it i would use IE10 just until all the bugs get worked out

Welcome to Seven Forums Couchto5k. Can you post a screenshot of the error

Since this started after installing Norton, I think it is most likely a Norton issue. See if allowing IE with Norton Program Control helps

Allow Programs through Firewall with Norton Internet Security - Hosting Support

You can boot to Safe mode with Networking and see if IE works there

    Safe Mode

If it works in Safe Mode, try a clean start next to see if there is a conflict.

Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

Let us know what you find. You can certainly uninstall Norton with their own removal tool as an easy test. You can always reinstall after regardless of result.
