Windows Live mail "blocked senders/domains" does not work?

Can someone explain why the "blocked sender/domain list" facility does not work please? I have blocked the same senders both with the blocked senders as well as the blocked domain lists in WLM so many times, & they just keep coming back? I also have Mailwasher ,use it all the time, but the "bounce /blacklist"' facility does not work there either ? Is it just my PC or does anyone else have this problem too?
When I delete all those blacklisted senders in MW, & WLM opens, almost every time I get a list of senders in my "junk mail" folder that never listed/displayed in Mailwasher when I was selecting the ones I wanted.
How can I reject what I don't want and have them stay rejected?

    using WLM signed in?No?

Hello Roadrunner, thanks for the suggestion, I did not know I could/had to sign in to use WLM?
I'll try it and see what happens? Not sure I understand why that makes a difference though? Why could I use WLM not signed in if that is necessary to do?

    What version 2011 or 2012?

How exactly are you specifying the block?

Please post a screen shot of the two lists

re" blocked senders/domains" in WLM does not stop them ?

Hello Slartybart,I am using WLM Version 2012 and have been trying to stop junk mail coming back repeatedly using its junk mail option which then allows me to choose whether to select stop senders with the block sender or the block domain options. It does not make any difference ,they just keep coming ie the same ones as well as all the new ones.As was suggested earlier , I have not been aware (being just new to all this,W7 upgrade and now using WLM after Outlook Express),that there was a sign on link ,so perhaps if I sign on when WLM opens,it may stop all the junk coming aboard? No idea how that would work, but I can hope it does I guess?
I have attached a screen shot of the drop down lists involved.

You don't have to sign on, that is a red herring.

    A couple of other questions:
What Mail Server (yahoo, gmail, aol...?)
How are the accounts set up (POP3, IMAP?) WLM defaults to IMAP for some known providers, that should not make a difference for blocked senders/domains though.

Your screen shot only showed a partial eMail address and the drop down list to add it to the block list. That's not what I wanted to see, I wanted to see how the entries looked in the actual lists.

Let's try it this way then
For Blocked senders - fully qualified eMail address
    id@address.com
    For Blocked domains
just the domain, no at sign (@), no wildcard (*)
    address.com

Do not tick either box at the bottom of the Blocked Senders window. You don't want to alert the bad sender that they have a live address.

There's also the International tab in Safety options. If you don't communicate with anyone in the country of bad eMail origin - you can add the country designation in the and all the junk that comes from that Top Level Domain (TLD).

Be careful though, many spammers use common TLDs or even common address designations such as yahoo.com - if you block that in a domain type block, no eMail from Yahoo will get through. Better in this case to define each bad sender fully

You can view or modify the lists
Press File to open the menu
    Select Option > Safety Options
    Press the Blocked Senders tab

If you're adding the blocks through the interface, they should be correct in the list.

It will take a while to get used to WLM, I put a few tips together about 6 mos after I figured out what worked for me

Sidenotes: Be careful to redact eMail addresses from images before you post them (I'm not concerned about the blocked eMail addresses though)
Paint has an eraser that makes it easy.

Also, it's easier for members to view an image if you attach it directly in your post
