    Hi,
As you already mentioned that you have updated flash player, JAVA and Chrome itself. Also, videos are working on FireFox. This could actually be issue with DNS settings. Try this.

switched your computer to DHCP and also make sure that the DNS is automatic. Scan for Viruses. Set up static ip with Googles DNS and scan for viruses one last time. Try now.

    Keep us posted.

Open a Youtube video> Right click on the video (the black screen in your case)> Settings> Uncheck Enable Hardware Acceleration> Close Youtube> Reopen Youtube and see if that fixed it

Chrome pretty much takes control of Flashplayer away from a user as far as storage....
When you have a bad update your basically waiting for Google to correct it,
If your a Chrome user your best place to report issues is on Google's Chrome forum,
Chances are that the question has already been reported but it's the first place to look or ask about issue,

Very few people here use Chrome,
    Cheers.

    I stand corrected thanks Derek

If you don't get the settings choice when it's black, I see people reporting that they can usually see videos on facebook and such, even when Youtube is black. They can get to settings on those videos. Make sure the video is playing when you right click. A Guy

Flash comes built into chrome, so updating flash will not do anything.

Just wanted to add that info.

Thanks A Guy - problem solved - everyone had a ton of things that would have taken a month to do, your solution took about 10 seconds. Pizzas for all!
