3. It's also been advised to review your Avast settings for email scanning and disable it temporarily to test.

It's also been suggested that the unknown server might be over loaded with archived emails and outlook is still loading those emails ?

4. Now the fun part please click start and type in the search box,
Uninstall a program
Click on the suggestion and take screen shots of the programs list,
Okay, I'll number the answer in all of the latest posts:

1. I use an Outlook Connector to reach my Hotmail account mails.
2. As stated in 1, and I use Outlook Connector all the time. And I have noticed that, when I turn the Hotmail account off, that OUTLOOK.EXE seems to close everytime I close the window, but I wouldn't yell "Victory!" just yet.
3. Ah, I forgot to tell you that since recently no longer use Avast, sorry about that.
4. I don't know why, but...

Hi thanks but your post 10 shows Avast5
Did you use the uninstaller ?
avast! Uninstall Utility | Download aswClear for avast! Removal
You can access Programs and features/ Uninstall a program from your Control panel,

If you use the start menu search continue typing until a suggestion appears the same as you typed,
uninstall a program
At this point we need a complete list of programs you have installed.

Sorry for being gone for a couple of days but good news people! It turns out that you have to shut off Outlook Connector. When you do that, Windows never asks me to manually shut down OUTLOOK.EXE. Apparantly Outlook Connector constantly checks for new mails in my Hotmail account.

I do want to thank everybody who posted and all those who took the time to comment and help me out .
