IE 11 issue with google images

I don't know how long this has existed (it used to be fine) but if I do a google search and click images I have noticed an issue. All the images display ok but when I click on one to enlarge it the resolution is not adjusting for the image. It's res dimensions remain small. So it maybe say a 1024x768 image but if I right click and do save as it will save at a much lower resolution (more like thumbnail size). Hope that makes sense. Don't know if the glitch is google side or MS. No such issue with Mozilla so it's only IE11. I have tried three different machines and all doing the same on ie11. Slight annoyance.

    Hi,
I might test later with win-8 and ie11 later,
All I can say now is ie10 is operating perfectly with google image search viewing :/

See if switching to software rendering makes any difference,

Yeah it might be windows 7/ie11 specific but would be interested if you see the same in win 8.1 on ie11. It may well if been doing this for a few weeks or longer. I don't use the google images too often but noticed it today as I searched for some DVD covers and this anomaly reared it's head. It's not a major thing but it is slightly irritating

    Hi,
After re-reading your question that's how google image has always functioned, I called it normal,
Okay you click on an image of what ever size it shows it's supposed to be,
The next page has always opened to anther page where the image is still not the full size stated,
On this page there's a View Page link and a View Image link = It's always been like that,
Now whether the View Image link opens the actual original image or not depends on where it originates from,
Often it opens to the original image but some times it goes to the site that hosts the image and it still may not be the original size :/
I don't believe ie10 is any different in that respect it's just the way it's always been,
I don't even believe Bing image search is any different except a little more annoying in other ways

Win 8 and ie11 are the same way,
    Cheers.

What it should do or used to do was when you clicked on an image out of the many displayed it enlarges the image a bit (not full size) to bring it into main focus. And yes from there can click it again and normally it opens the relevant site it's hosted on.

My gripe is on the middle step where you kind of preview the image. If it's a high res image what you should see is the picture sharpening after a couple secs but it doesn't anymore, many of the pics look low res now. On this preview you could click save as and from there you can save it as JPEG. This still works but it doesn't save it as the correct full resolution anymore. It will just save it as the preview/thumbnail size now. It's kind if hard to explain. Ok I can go to the third step where I click another time in the pic to launch the page it's embedded in and save full size then but I liked it that you could view and save images in the 'preview' stage without having to load the sites page. I can't comment in how it's working on ie9 or ie10 as our home machines only have ie11 but all three of them are the same.

We also use Mozilla on our machines and the above does not happen . They all load sharp pics in preview mode and save in full res so it's specific to ie11. I don't know how long it's been like this, I am sure I did an album search a few weeks ago and didn't notice the glitch so I think it's relatively recent. It could be a google issue but it could quite easily be pesky windows updates (I am always fully updated) that has introduced this.

    So in summary
Step 1 - you search in google and select images which will display hundreds of pics
Step 2 - you click on any 1 of the images. It kind of enlarges the image a bit and brings it to focus/main attention
Step 3 - you click this image again and it'll load it's page.

Steps 1 and 3 work perfect. Step 2 does not as it's enlarged thumbnail preview for high res pics looks low res, does not sharpen and will now only 'save as' in a low res size. This did not used to occur

    We're on the same page,
I'm unaware of saving the preview images though,
I would of thought you would need to use Save Target As on that type of link instead of save picture as ?
I've always gone to the original and either save picture as or used the windows snipping tool for a png of the file I wanted :/

Don't feel like the lone ranger :)
I can't remember a time when it was any different :/
Did you try save target as on the preview ?

Save target as just tried to save HTML. Anyway I looked on google forums (my god their forum design is horrible, nothing like this great site) and the issue has been noticed by quite a few people so hopefully they will sort out. Although it's dissapointing that it's been glitching for several weeks now. I think it's safe to assume its a google side issue rather than MS if it arise pre patch tuesday at the beginning of the month

Google has never cared what or how items appear in other browsers,
Getting help from google is a no win situation been there and done that it's a waste of time,
I regularly use Bing search instead,
Thanks for sharing the thread :)
    Cheers.
