java keeps saying it needs updated on IE10 and favorites erased

So yesterday I had an issue connecting my new laptop to the Wi-Fi at my university and when I connected I was able to use Google Chrome, but I was unable to access IE and I thought to myself that I should reset IE and I did and of course I was still having issues connecting to the Wi-Fi, but I finally got that fixed and then I reset again, well after both times I reset IE all of my favorites ended up getting erased and I think it has something to do with Toshiba's software because when I told it not to save my personal settings it reset back to Toshiba's homepage, but on my old laptop after I had reset IE my favorites was still there any reason what could be causing this and after I got all my favorites back on Facebook at the bottom of my screen I started getting a message saying that Java needed to be updated before I could run it or it could pose as a security risk to my computer, why is this popping up for when I know java is updated to the most recent version on my computer thanks guys

    Hi,
As far as the new popup message which I don't believe it has anything to do with the version of java you have installed it's because of the game is using a out of date java applet
The September 9th 2014 Security Updates
The top deployment priority for our customers this month is the update for Internet Explorer, which addresses 37 CVEs. In case you missed it, the August update for Internet Explorer also included new functionality to block out-of-date ActiveX controls. This functionality will be enabled with today’s update. You can see what these notifications will look like by reviewing this TechNet article. Administrative Templates are also available for those who wish to manage these settings through Group Policy.
Not sure what's up with the favorites issues but it is recommended to back them up before reset to be safe :/

its good to know that it is not an outdated version of Java and the thing about the favorites puzzled me to, but I do backup m whole entire computer on a weekly basis, I think that my favorites getting erased has something to do from one of Toshiba's programs and I don't know which one it could be, but I hope I can get it figured out and get the program oof my computer

doing a clean install is something that I rather not do because I may mess up my computer and going to Toshiba's website to find the correct drivers I need might be a problem and there is no 2nd drive on my laptop that has all the software I need built in I really just thought about doing away with java completely and only install as I need it which is like for 10 minutes everyday

    Hi,
I believe all you need to do is make a driver disk before doing a clean install,
All drivers will still be available on their website,
I did my lappy and everything is good actually better no crapware :)
But like I said once out of warrantee you really have nothing to loose :/
    Cheers.
