Java web start (javaws.exe) will not associate to .jnlp files

    Hello All,

I am trying to get a web application to open on my computer. It was working before updates then I could not get the extension to open. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling Java and now have version 7 update 67.

As I have seen with many of the forums I have looked at, it shows that you need to change your program the file type is associated to. I have tried to go to default programs and set associations for JNLP files, but Java web start is not in recommended program. When I browse to the correct executable (javaws.exe) and open it still does not show up choose program window for me to select.

Even saving the file to my desktop instead of opening when prompted in Internet Explorer, I still cannot change the open with default to Java Web Start.

Please help if you seen this before. I am not sure what changed for this program to not run anymore.

    Thanks
