Deleting Temporary internet files via on-exit action for IE

So when IE deletes my temporary internet files on browser exit, how is it wiping it from the HDD? When i tried to delete almost 20k files, it seemed almost instantaneous in how they were deleted. So is the procedure of file deletion for the temp files that they are being moved and queue'd for deletion? Or are they being soft deleted so that they are just overwritten as the HDD gets new write requests? I ask this because we were thinking of enforcing delete on exit for the browser. The problem is, we have users who have as much as 20 gigs in their temp folder who knows how many files within the folders as well. We were afraid that deleting on exit would cause horrible short term deletion routine to delete that batch of files on the first clean through...I'm rambling though...If anyone understand's what i'm asking, input would be amazingly appreciated.

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Anything windows does is just overwritten as far as I know Internet explorer is no different making the folder writable again,
20 gig's of temp files is pretty ridiculous

I personally use this in addition to delete on exit,
    Temp files delete,
Run this as administrator and Start the scanner,
Shut your machine down after it finishes,

But for all users I suppose you would need to use Disk cleanup and More options to access System cleanup/ Cleanup System files and select the sections you want to get rid of,
