Fails to install ie11, won't remove ie 10

I have a laptop from a friend that was heavily virussed.
I have managed to clean most/all up now (malwarebytes etc no longer reporting) but cannot get it to install ie11.
I followed the tips elsewhere on removing ie10 manually - the forfiles command line, and it has removed some, but 7 components do not remove, and 4 error with 80070005. The others don't error if I remove the /quiet, but equally they don't work!
I then looked at the error on the msdn blogs, installed and ran subinacl commands, but they haven't fixed it either!
I checked eventlogs, and saw errors relating to system restore points, which are now fixed. I have managed to create a restore point.
I have run the SURT tool, and sfc /scannow (which said everything was fine)
However I still cannot install ie11. Current install is from a downloaded version, but have tried from Windows update too.
I would attach my cbs log files as requested - but the zip of the folder is 38Mb - so above limits I have attached the last half of one of the CBS logs and the smaller logs!
Just ran the tool on kb971058, as that related in to failed installs. The initial fixit didnt show anything - but the one in the main document ran and showed 2 errors - in capture.png

The first link only refers to ie 7, 8, 9. Does it work on 10?
