    Gmail location

I need to find the folder/directory that Gmail is stored/installed in. Unable to locate it after a large number of searches. Help please.

GMail is web mail--it's stored on Google servers--not on your local machine

That's right. Gmail does not store anything local unless you've downloaded an email attachment, and then you'll only find that attachment wherever your browser stores downloads. All of the mail you see is on the gmail servers and never actually ends up on your system.

The exception to the rule MAY be if you're using a POP client (Outlook, etc...). I'm not sure if Gmail offers POP functionality, though.

    Email client used?

Are you downloading gmail messages using an email client?

If so it depends upon the client used and also if you set it up to use POP3 or imap.

    Thanks

Many thanks to all that answered my question re: finding Gmail. Did not realize this was the case with that service.
