    IE 11 not really updating

    Guys,

My computer which currently running Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1 cant really update the IE. It is still running IE8 and I have problem updating it to IE11. Looking at the log of windows update, the IE11 is successfully updated, but there is nothing change and the windows update still want to update it again.

Anybody know how to fix it? It has been running for almost a month now.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Personally I would uninstall/ roll back to ie8,
Then when the update appears again Hide it by right clicking it,
Check for updates again ie10 will appear and probably ie9 if ie9 does not appear Hide ie10
Then repeat checking for updates until ie9 does appear,
    Download it being ie9,
Once you do see if it sticks before unhiding updates and download ie10 which by the way is the most stable version

But you can if you insist see if this helps,

    Hi ThrashZone,
Thank you for replying. I have tried your advice by hiding it straight to IE8, which is the default version. Unhide IE9, update it, it is a success. By success I mean it is really upgrade, and not just the success on the log. Tried to upgrade IE10, log said success, but the real IE doesnt really upgrade.

Tried the link you sent me, using the command, it is still not a success. Windows Update still repeatedly updating the same updates. Please help me.
