Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Personally I would uninstall/ roll back to ie8, Then when the update appears again Hide it by right clicking it, Check for updates again ie10 will appear and probably ie9 if ie9 does not appear Hide ie10 Then repeat checking for updates until ie9 does appear, Download it being ie9, Once you do see if it sticks before unhiding updates and download ie10 which by the way is the most stable version ![]() But you can if you insist see if this helps, https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/186275-windows-update-fix-repeatedly-offered-update.html |

Hi ThrashZone,
Thank you for replying. I have tried your advice by hiding it straight to IE8, which is the default version. Unhide IE9, update it, it is a success. By success I mean it is really upgrade, and not just the success on the log. Tried to upgrade IE10, log said success, but the real IE doesnt really upgrade. Tried the link you sent me, using the command, it is still not a success. Windows Update still repeatedly updating the same updates. Please help me. |

MSE not updating This only started two days ago. I rebooted to see if that would help, but to no avail. Not sure if it is a windows update problem or an MSE problem. NB: A few days ago i got that malware warning message during the scan, but there was nothing found - I read the post here. Not sure if it triggered... |

How necessary is updating at all I guess I'm of the school, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. All my needed programs run fine, why should I... |

Updating the RTM? Looks like I'm going to give the RTM a shot. I believe I'll have to turn off "auto-activate when online" during the install to allow for the rearming thing until October but I'm curious about Windows Updates once it's running. Getting it updated is typically the first thing I do when installing a... |
