Well you don't actually need flash player for IE - it will still work as a browser but it won't display flash content. IE now has HTML player for supported videos. Personally I keep IE disabled and only enable it when needed.

Do this for every browser you have, to show if and what Flash Player version it uses. Go to

From there you can go to the "Player Download Center" to install a new version if there is one. I do this first in IE, then in Firefox, because it's different Flash Players installs. But because Firefox and Opera uses the same Flash player version I don't have to do the install for Opera. The easiest way to verify this is to go to the Flash about page in Opera, the first link in this post, after I installed the Flash Player for Firefox.

You can also go to the Windows Control Panel - Flash Player, tab "Advanced". It lists three different players:
  • Active-X (used in Internet Explorer)
  • NPAPI (used in plug-in based browsers like Firefox, Opera etc)
  • PPAPI (Pepper based browsers like Chrome) This shows "Not installed" for me
HTH :)

Adobe Flash Player is not supported for playback in a 64-bit browser. However, you can run Flash Player in a 32-bit browser running on a 64-bit operating system. How can I get a 32-bit browser for my 64-bit Windows 7 Home premium operating system?
