    Internet Explorer freezing up computer

    Hi there,

I have noticed that after I am running internet explorer, my computer will freeze up and the only way I can fix it is by rebooting the machine. This is becoming frustrating and it is affecting my ability to do any work done because we use Lawson for work and it only runs on internet explorer. I do not have this issue with google chrome so I am not sure what is causing this. Sometime I can use the internet explorer for a while before it starts freezing up and sometimes it would happen just after i run it for few minutes. Not really sure what is going on. I use AVG antivirus and have disabled add-ons and have done malware scan but did not help. Anybody have suggestion? I would appreciate it very much. Thanks.

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
I hate to be a drag on security choices but AVG is not very internet explorer friendly,
It often clashes with internet explorer's security features,
Best I can say is to test for a while without it,
And no disabling AVG will not be good enough,
    It must be thoroughly removed,
    Uninstall AVG | AVG

Use free MSE for a day or two and test or Panda ?

    Hi,
Thanks and we'll look forward to an update,
If the issue shows it's ugly head,
    Do a full reset,
Export Favorites to html file before resetting Internet explorer/ just to be safe.

Accessing Internet Options from the Start menu search,

    Hi,

It reared its ugly head after removing AVG. Also, I did reset but that did not help either. Any other suggestion?

    Use Clean boot,
    https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/179159-troubleshoot-application-conflicts-performing-clean-startup.html
Click Start and type in the search box,
    msconfig
Click on the suggestion on top or hit the Enter key,
Go to the Startup section and take some screen shots for a complete list,
Go to the Services section and on the bottom left Check the box to Hide All Microsoft services,
    Repeat the screen shots,
See the links above my signature on how to take and upload screen shots here,
    Cheers.

So I did a clean boot per the instructions and then restarted and started using Internet Explorer and sadly it started freezing up again. I am still able to use it but it slows down to almost grinding halt. It takes me forever to click on a link or open up a new page. Not sure why. Any other ideas?
