    IE cannot download anything

When I try to download any files, when it shows the choices of Run, Save or Save As, clicking any of them produces no change, the choices remain on the screen.

The IE version is the latest one for Win 7, I believe it is IE11.

I've reset IE, restored the Advanced Settings, cleared the cache and history, ran sfc and dism, ran System Restore back to before the issue started.

I installed Firefox and it is able to download files with no problem.

    Any ideas? Thanks

Have you tried downloading in No Add-on mode?

    Hi
I agree no add-ons and use Clean boot,
    https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/179159-troubleshoot-application-conflicts-performing-clean-startup.html
Click Start and type in the search box,
    msconfig
Click on the suggestion on top or hit the Enter key,
Go to the Startup section and take some screen shots for a complete list,
Go to the Services section and on the bottom left Check the box to Hide All Microsoft services,
    Repeat the screen shots,
See the links above my signature on how to take and upload screen shots here,
    Cheers.
Also fill in your system spec's with the link in my signature,
Also post which security suite you have installed

Since I've installed Firefox on this computer, my friend has been happy and doesn't really care that IE can't download, so I've not had a chance to try the no add-ons mode or clean boot. When I do I will post back. Thanks for the suggestions.
