I have no problem at all with the speed. I can live with 2 seconds easily.

I'll probably continue to test drive it.

But I will not continue if it has severe indexing delays. It found as many hits as Google overall, but shows NONE in the last year for a random search term. That would be a show-stopper for me if it turns out to be typical.

And how would you ever know how good it is if you search for only relatively common stuff and pay little or no attention to how recent the results are? Getting 10 billion hits for "Barack Obama" doesn't tell me much. Can it find Barack Obama's hat size? That's a more realistic test of how good it might be.
How did it go? What's your latest feedback on the IXQuick?

I'd say, the best search engine (different than Google) is Ixquick Search Engine.

    • Private search engine
    • Highly anonymous search engine
    • Uses TLS 1.2
    • No history
    • Doesn't save, share or sell your info
    • Has one click web proxy to open each link with
    • Rich list of results
    • Owned by a Netherlands company (non-US based)

Ixquick's privacy practices have been awarded the highest possible rating by EuroPriSe, the European certifying authority.

Best and most secure SE ever!

For me this is end of story.

Either of those Duck or Ix will be waaaaay better than Google, Bing or any other junk!

    Good luck!
I've heard good things about Duck Duck Go but haven't gotten around to trying it yet. I also use Ixquick, primarily for privacy reasons and have pretty much been happy with it.

    Thank you!
    Glad to hear it.

I agree both search engines are very good. Both support highest TLS security possible. It is up to your browser settings to provide you with the highest encryption negotiation algos possible.

You can test your browser here https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/viewMyClient.html and disable the weak cipher suites and vulnerable protocols of your browser.

I'll admit to not testing it further.

I have an icon for it on my taskbar, but I have not been using it.

I was put off by the slow indexing mentioned in my above response. I can't live with that in a search engine.

I may or may not eventually give it a further test drive.
