When I press a hyperlink in some other program nothing happens.

Hi and welcome to Sevenforums!

If Firefox is set as the default browser try holding down the CTRL key while clicking the link. That's the standard way for many programs.

Firefox default, but links in programs open IE
Using FF 22 as default, but several programs I use (if not all), open IE nevertheless. My e mail program The Bat! is one of them, they say their program just looks at the default browser. Should I change registry keys? Is it a good idea to remove IE altogether? W7 = Ultimate.
