    Unable to unistall IE 11

Over the past few weeks IE 11 comes up with an error message saying " Internet Explorer has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem". Sometimes this goes on to say "A problem caused the program to stop working properly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available".

I tried to uninstall the IE 11 update but, although the uninstall starts, I am told that it cannot be completed.

I have run the IE Fixit program to no avail. Can anyone suggest where to go from here?
