    Outlook Express 6 help

I'm running windows 7 ultimate and need some help in adding outlook express 6 into
    the computer.

    1. Do I need to install outlook from the original setup in programs and features add or remove
    section first ?

    2. or is there a simple way to add it back into windows 7 or a direct download to it where it will
download then all I have to do is extract it and it will install on its own.

    thank you in advance

Outlook Express is not supported and unavailable in Windows 7 as far as I know.

You need to use another mail program. Not sure what the Microsoft replacement is nowadays--Live Mail maybe. I use Thunderbird.

You can transfer any saved old Outlook Express emails to the new program, but it's a major ordeal. Googling may find you some instructions, but it's still a pain.

You are the only person on the planet who ever used Outlook Express on Windows 7 as far as I know.

Others moved on to Outlook, Thunderbird, Gmail, etc.

    Good luck.

You'd be better off fixing that dodgy installation of yours first.

    Hi there

If you want to use Outlook express (pity it was never supported after XP - great little email client) then you'll need to run it in an XP VM (Virtual Machine).

Otherwise you'll have to choose a new email client -- there aren't really many good ones around that compare with OE -- if you have OFFICE then OUTLOOK is perhaps your best bet.

Otherwise you can use any number of those free WEBMAIL type of systems -- personally I HATE THOSE though.

I'm using Outlook but do run a few XP VM's --OE does stiil work on XP of course.

    Cheers
