Why does text in Outlook/Hotmail Emails Get Smaller?

Wondering if anyone can help with a strange problem. The text for writing emails in Outlook is set to 12. The first one, two maybe three paragraphs of an email I'm writing the text is the correct size.

However, as I go further down the page, lower paragraphs usually get smaller on their own the text goes down one, maybe two sizes. The type ends up quite small, and looks daft sending emails with two or sometimes three different text sizes. All the time this happens, the text size is still set to 12.

    It's a desktop pc with windows 7 and IE11.

    Any help appreciated.

Hello Woodbine, you are not alone. I have searched this before, and there are several ridiculous threads at Microsoft Answers (more like MS torture!). An example:

The font size changes when I am composing my email. - Microsoft Community

All without fixes. Some had success buy removing their email signature, where applicable. It has been a while, but I think it also had something to do with a corrupted Calibri font. You might try reinstalling that font

    Calibri - Free Font Download

This isn't the fix for everyone. It has been a while, there was a spate of these when Hotmail changed to Outlook.com. This was also a problem in Office I believe.
