Windows Live Mail will not accept Gmail account

After setting up my Gmail account, I import the folders and all of the sudden I get a message saying "The server has rejected your login. Please verify that your user name and password are correct." I typed in the right username and password and clicked okay and repeats the message again. I know that for Gmail that you have to have IMAP enabled in which I have. I've looked up how to's, but they seem to be for different versions of Gmail and/or Live Mail.

Anyone knows how?

In Gmail account settings, confirm “IMAP is enabled”, and access for less secured apps https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps is turned ON
