How to make default browser open external links with custom profile?

Firefox is my default browser and i want to set it to use a specific profile when opens external links. The registry location for the default browser is in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\shell\open\command and the value is something like this "E:\PortableApps\Firefox\firefox.exe" -osint -url "%1"
I tried to change the value to this: "E:\PortableApps\Firefox\firefox.exe" -profile path_to_profile -osint -url "%1" But it didn't work.

Any idea how this can be done? Is it possible?

    Hi:

    I'm not 100% sure that's possible.

But I'm pretty sure the folks at the very active Mozillazine.org community would be able to answer your question:

    Firefox Support

In the interim, these links might contain some helpful information:

    Shortcut to a specific profile
    Using multiple profiles - Firefox
Opening a new instance of Firefox with another profile

    >>No matter what, I would be certain to back up my profile and its important contents (especially bookmarks), before doing anything aggressive, "just in case".

    I hope this helps,
