ThrashZone
please advise how you knew that this PC was previously installed with Webroot.
This knowledge of the specs of this machine gives rise to an element of concern here.

Hi ThrashZone
many thanks for the explanation, at first I thought you had acquired a crystal ball:) I said in an earlier post that you learn something every day, so thats another one to further my education!
Never noticed that little my system tab before
Interesting that you raised the possibility re Webroot, because I thought I had completely erased all evidence of its past use from both this PC and the one giving trouble.
Since your post I have run the webroot uninstaller on both machines to make sure, so will be interested to see if this indication changes.
To keep all up to date, I did attempt a further driver download for the ATI graphics on the pain in the ass PC.
The download went very differently this time, and took a long time and was very comprehensive. Since then the pita PC has behaved impecably.
Thanks again for all your help
Hi no problem :)
You can review your msconfig list to see if any weird entries are listed on the Startup section
Just click the start button and type that in your search box and the enter key
Post a screen shot for review
Cheers.
