Using more than one browser?
Is it safe to use more than one browser?
My desktop came with I.E. but I use Google Chrome as my default browser. So if it is safe, how do I use Internet Explorer without making it my default browser?

It is alright, I use three
Default is IE, and then I am lazy to change between gmail accounts so 2nd is chrome. And use FireFox with ZenMate for banned websites and such.
Make sure to keep your browsers and add-ons up-to-date and avoid shady sites.
Just start IE like you always do. There should be a checkbox or some such setting to never ask for making it default. Then again I am not sure if IE asks to make itself default.
There is no problem at all in using multiple browsers simultaneously, as they all are totally independent of each other. Just launch them yourself like any other program and use them.
About security, I don't see any more danger in having many of them as using a single one. Each one is on its own and shouldn't be affected at all by other things on the computer.
You can when ie is open use Alt+TO or gear symbol and Internet options,
Programs section and uncheck the box to ask to be default if you want Chrome to be default,
Apply and Okay your way out,

Say, when using I.E. as your browser, how do you log onto your accounts of the same websites you have on Chrome? I can't log onto my account with PayPal, read my Yahoo mail, or log onto websites I use!
Hi,
No problem I assumed you were referring to the annoying popup message when you open ie
Chrome install will typically default to being the default browser if you check the option to accept that change :)
Cheers and happy dual browser surfing
Although I prefer Pale moon over Chrome = to each his/ her own
Thanks for the reply. Let me use Yahoo as an example....
I use my Yahoo mail everyday with Chrome. But, when I try using Internet Explorer instead, I can't log onto my Yahoo mail. All I get is a blank page.

Some say it may mean that a few add ons won't work.
Is IE up to date? What IE version are you on?
