Firefly, now you can enable the startup items/services, say, 5 at a time, restart PC and see if pages load ok. Then when it doesn't, disable them one by one from the last batch and try to find the culprit.

    puzzled

I did the breakdown and everything is running under Services and all but two is running under startup IE works fine,

The two items not running under startup are one called "birds" whatever that is and the other being AVG_UI,

the AVG_UI will not stay selected as enabled even if I do select it, it will not be running when I check again after the reboot and everything seems to work with birds running but since I don't know what that is, I don't allow it to run,

Anything AVG should be running, it is your antivirus. Avgui is not running most likely because some other AVG service is stopped.

    Oh boy

It seems that the more I try to find out what the problem is the more problems there are, I know that IE 11 will not work outside of a selective startup, i tried going back in to a normal startup mode and it will not go in to it, it just goes right back to selective, however now sometimes I get "only secured content is displayed" when I load IE 11 and if i hit show all it goes back to a white page with a load icon spinning next to google and what appears to be a piece of paper with a tear in it near the address line by the refresh and search icons,

a friend of mine told me to do a SCAN/SCANNOW under CMD so i did that and it said "windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them" and had a location of a log file i went there and tried to open the log file and it says "Access is denied",

See option three in this tutorial:
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Do not try to fix the things found. Just attach the sfcdetails.txt file to you next post:

Please restart the computer and run the SFC scan again. If it still finds problems that it cannot fix, I'll see if I can find someone to help you.

The torn icon or broken page icon is a compatibility view icon
Click on it and it turns blue which indicates you're running in compatibility view.

Every once in a while I see the secure content popup
Google search isn't one of those places but then again I use tried and true ie10.

You might even make sure your clock and date is absolutely correct.

    Hi,
Please update your msconfig startup and services images now that you have removed the other 2 antivirus programs.
