Firefox taking a lot of CPU Usage + Adobe Flash constantly crashing

To a large extent, RAM (memory) is there to be used.
Firefox will use what it needs, especially on content- and graphics-heavy sites.
That is done to provide you with the optimal browsing experience.
Re: CPU usage: you don't provide any data as to how much is "a lot", as far as your CPU usage is concerned?

It's not recommended to use CCleaner or other utilities to "clean" Firefox -- such cleaners and tweakers can actually damage a program.
The power users and experts over at forums.mozillazine.org suggest that one should let Firefox clean up after itself.

If it gets to that step, you can back up your bookmarks and import them into the new profile. But you will be better served starting from scratch with extensions and add-ons and settings tweaks.

For Adobe Flash Player (if you wish to continue to use it, even though it is being replaced by HTML5, as explained HERE), you might want to start fresh:

1. Download, save and follow the instructions to run the Flash Player uninstaller.
2. Go to this site and download the current Plug-In version of Flash Player for Windows, 18.0.0.232 (this site will give you ONLY the Flash Player installer, without any bundled crapware).
3. Run the installer.
4. (Do the same with the Active X version of Flash Player, if you also use MS Internet Explorer)

I presumed -- perhaps incorrectly -- that the OP is running the current version of Fx (40.0.2), but it would be good to confirm that.

The steps I outlined in my earlier reply ought to get the OP to the current version of Flash Player.
