    Bookmarks Order Messing Up

I have Chrome v. 45.0.2454.85 m I have my Bookmarks in various Folders. I have put them in the order I prefer inside the Folders. They have been fine for a couple years. Two days ago they started showing in a different order. I would correct them to the order I wanted (in Bookmark Manager) but then the next time i open Chrome, they are messed up again. Do you have any idea why this might be happening and how to stop it? Thanks,

Do you have multiple machines on the same google account? Google's sync is for the birds. If so, the first thing I would do is make a local copy of the bookmarks file, and anything else that gets synced. Then go online to google dashboard and start the sync process afresh.

I have two different PC's that I access the net with but there is no sync involved in it.

Do both computers have this issue?

I have the same version of Chrome. I just checked my bookmarks and I'm not seeing a change n order. I added a new bookmark (via drag/drop), restarted Chrome and the new one was where I left it - in a folder and in the same order where I left it.

I have folders nested 3 and 4 deep. They seem to be holding.

I also tried adding a new bookmark while in the Bookmark manager - that held its place too - nested a few folders down.

That said, all of my bookmarks and folders are on the bookmarks bar - your mileage may vary.

This only started a few days ago and I have not been to the office since, so I don't know if it is OK or not. The strange thing is it has been fine for a couple years and it started Thursday. I Googled and there was a lot of problems with this and no one has solved it. It sounds to me as if it is a random problem. I might try importing bookmarks again.
